I’ve been a DM for a long time. How long?
Do you remember when Against the Giants was actually three separate modules with the cover colors being in that ugly 70’s pastel palette? I do because I owned them – when they were new.
Ok, so that marks me as old. That just means I’m finally starting to get pretty good at running a campaign.
What’s cool is that I started on the original Advanced Dungeons & Dragons rules but have evolved with TSR and Wizards of the Coast to get to the fifth edition rules for D&D. I’ve seen a lot of change, and I really like the current rules. I suspect these will be around for a long time.
Of course, like most role playing geeks, I enjoy more than just Dungeons & Dragons. I’ve played a lot of different games from Car Wars to Star Wars. Some of my favorites include Gamma World and Chill. I’ve also spent many hours playing Star Frontiers, Top Secret, James Bond and many more.
As an adult, I’ve done a lot of adult things: got married, had kids, bought a house and held a dangerous job. All of them have helped me become a better person and better DM.
